Application Process
Information Presentation
In February, graduating seniors who are eligible for this scholarship are notified by the College & Career Counselor and are invited to an informational session held during the school day.
Eligiblity
Seniors of the Patterson Joint Unified School District (PJUSD) are eligible. Seniors must graduate with a cumulative GPA of not less than 2.5 to be considered for a scholarship. The amount of the scholarships will be determined within the following categories: 3.5 GPA or better, 3.0 to 3.49 GPA and 2.5 to 2.99 GPA. Students only compete with those in their own grade point range.
Recipients must attend a post-secondary school within two years of graduation and be registered for a full-time schedule of classes at an accredited institution. Full-time is defined as 12 units or more for this scholarship.
Application Window
The PRIDE Application window for the 2024-2025 school year will open in February. Exact dates to be announced. The PRIDE application will be completed and submitted online only. Students will also need to upload the following documents with their application:
-
Unofficial copy of your transcript (see your counselor, the registrar (Ms. Arevalo), or Mrs. Thomas for a digital copy).
More details can be found within the application so make sure to read all instructions thoroughly.
Selection Process
The PRIDE selection committee pours over every application, essay and activity sheet. GPAs are also confirmed. At the end of April the application scores are tallied and the list of awardees is finalized. Students receiving a scholarship are then notified by email.
Awards Night
Students receiving an award will be notified by the PRIDE Scholarship committee via email during the month of May. If your email address changes after submitting your application, please notify the PRIDE Scholarship committee at pride@patterson.k12.ca.us. You can also direct any PRIDE-related questions there.
The 2024 PRIDE Awards Night will be Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at 7:00 PM in the auditorium. Students must be present to receive their awarded scholarship. Parents are encouraged to attend.
